Nataly Stevens, MA, QTS, BA, MISM

 

Nataly is a violinist at Nottingham Symphony Orchestra, performing with them at various venues such as St. Mary’s Church, Southwell Minster, Albert Hall and Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham. Nataly is a keen performer, playing violin, piano and Church organ. Nataly enjoys playing and composing new music. Inspired by playing five Violin Concertos by W.A. Mozart, Nataly has composed Cadenzas for all these concertos. Nataly has written several quartets and a violin concerto, as well as solo works. Nataly’s quartets have been performed during the summer concerts at Southwell Minster, Nottinghamshire, where Nataly debuted as a quartet leader and composer.

Nataly takes an active part in educating adults and the younger generation to play piano and violin. During her many years of teaching, Nataly has taught music and piano/violin playing to many students across London and Nottinghamshire, in private and state schools, as well as at her home in Burton Joyce. Nataly has written a Violin Tutor book for the little violinists, which includes solos and piano accompaniments, violin duets and her own compositions and illustrations.

Nataly has graduated from a prestigious Music Academy, accomplished a BA in Economics, QTS - qualified music teacher degree and Master of Arts (music), with the University of Nottingham. She has written a pioneering dissertation on Liatoshinsky, Ukrainian born composer wh0 lived and worked in Stalinist Russia.

Nataly has also enjoyed covering musical and cultural events at the local newspaper in Ukraine. She has fond memories of working as a journalist and column writer in her early 20s and being in charge of the cultural coverage page. In 2023, Nataly has taken part in the BBC Breakfast show, BBC news, BBC Radio 4 covering events in Ukraine and speaking regularly with BBC Radio Nottingham.
